Beeb’s Sports Bar & Grill
915 Club House Dr
Livermore, CA 94551
You’ve had a long week at the office and the weekend is finally here. You’re heading home, hungry and and want to catch the Warriors game with a nice cold beer. You get home, open the door and are greeted by a couple of loud and hungry kids that have been cooped up in the house way too long.
It’s time to take them out for dinner, but where do you go?
While downtown Livermore has plenty of options, it gets pretty busy. The restaurants are packed, there are long wait times and parking can be a real pain.
Another option is to head away from downtown and over near the airport to Beeb’s Sports Bar & Grill – #44 of The Great Livermore Restaurant Challenge.
Beeb’s is part of the Las Positas Golf Course, a 27 hole facility on the western edge of Livermore along I-580. It’s a lively place for the family that has a great sports bar menu, nice views of the golf course, plenty of TVs for sports, and arcade games for the kids.
Being a sports bar, it’s obviously a great place to watch the game. The restaurant features over two dozen TVs. It doesn’t matter what you’re a fan of; if you like sports, you can catch just about any game at Beeb’s.
But they don’t cater just to adults. They encourage you to bring the little monsters too, especially after 5 p.m. when kids eat free.
After the kids are done with their fill of chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers and two refills of Coca-Cola; give them a roll of quarters. They’ll run off to play Time Crisis 3, Crus’n Exotica or one of the other arcade games they have near the front door.
That’ll keep them busy so you can enjoy a moment watching the game with your favorite craft beer.
If you head over to Beeb’s on a nice afternoon, have lunch outside on their patio. You’ll be rewarded with relaxing views of the greens and see some interesting aircraft taking off from the Livermore Airport. You might even catch a blimp passing by.
Just keep an eye on your food though, those black birds hanging out nearby are sneaky little devils.
How is the food? The San Francisco Burger is a personal favorite of mine. It’s a variant of their patty melt with an extremely juicy beef patty on toasted sourdough topped with sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions and cheddar. Yum!
In addition to burgers, they have a large selection of sandwiches featuring tri-tip, pulled pork and other mouthwatering choices. Their “Beeb’s All Star” menu which features wraps, fish and chips, and a few Mexican entreés including their popular Authentic Baja Fish Tacos – a must try.
Happy hour for beer, wine and cocktails is every night from 3 p.m. to close. Appetizer specials from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. They have a full bar which often features craft beer from one of Livermore’s local breweries like Altamont Beer Works, Working Man or Eight Bridges.
Head over for the kids, sports, brews or views. If you like to putt, just don’t forget your golf shoes. Beeb’s is a great restaurant in Livermore with something for just about anyone.
