The title of this Photo Friday is bit of word play on a song surrounded by little controversy.

My wife hates Taco Bell. While I’m not a fast food junkie, I do enjoy an occasional fast food fix every now and again. Taco Bell is often my choice, but my wife hates eating there with a passion. No explanation, just pure, raw, hatred. So yeah, I don’t eat at Taco Bell as much as I used to.
But this time I was alone and in the mood for a cheap, quick, fast food fix. My location of choice for #10 of The Great Livermore Restaurant Challenge is the Taco Bell on the corner of Vasco Road and Preston Avenue just off 580.
My order was about as generic as you can get at Taco Bell.
Which is brighter, Sunday night’s full moon or 580 traffic?
Melo’s Pizza and Pasta

I’ve been to Melo’s a half-dozen times and the food has always been great. While I’ve had a couple of pasta dishes here, my main staple at Melo’s are their tasty pizzas.
As I was perusing through the menu trying to figure out what I wanted to eat, the words “New! Calzones” caught my eye.
Now I’m a sucker for a great calzone. I might even say it’s in the top five of my all time favorite meals — not that I actually have a list written down or anything.
My introduction to a great calzone came way back in the early 90’s when I was a pizza delivery guy at Mary’s Pizza Shack up in Santa Rosa. If you’ve never had the Mary’s Meat Calzone stuffed with salami, pepperoni and cotto salami, plus ricotta, parmesan and mozzarella cheeses topped with their zesty pizza sauce, I highly recommend it next time your up in the North Bay. It’s been a while since I’ve had one. But those pizza delivering days were the good old days, well, except for the night my car was stolen during a delivery, *sigh*.
But I digress, this is about The Great LIVERMORE Restaurant Challenge, not my teenage heyday years.
