Bing.com Features the Altamont Pass Wind Farm

How cool is this… The featured image on Bing.com today is a cool photo of Christmas lights being strung up on a wind turbine at the Altamont Pass Wind Farm here in Livermore.

I knew it was the Altamont when I saw it, but I wanted to be 100% sure before wrote this post. I dug into the sources and found the photo on Corbis Images where I confirmed it. The photograph was taken by Roger Ressmeyer back in 1990. He has some really great photos that are worth a look. You can check out his work at Ressmeyer.com.

Awesome Christmas Lights in Livermore

Deacon DaveDo things seem more festive this December or is it just me? While driving around Livermore, and walking around my neighborhood, there seems to be a lot more homes decorated with Christmas lights this year. More homes lit up, more blinky lights, just more festiveness all around. It’s kind of nice!

If you are interested in checking out some great displays in town, there is a great website that you must bookmark. CaliforniaChristmasLights.com (also known as Lights of the Valley) is a website that started right here in the Livermore Valley by Alex Dourov back in 1999. It’s expanded quite a bit over the years where it currently maps almost 350 homes in 117 cities in California. After you visit the website, be sure like their Facebook page too.

While you are driving through town, here are a few places that are worth checking out…
