Jim Jellison, “The Flying Gourmet”
I’d like to introduce you to a great friend of mine, Jim Jellison. He’s a local pilot with an awesome sense of adventure and a healthy palate for great food. Combine those and you have The Flying Gourmet!
Jim has been flying for a long time – so-much-so that he knows about everywhere you could fly to eat within 2 hours of Livermore. He started writing restaurant reviews for Ahart Aviation Services’ newsletter and has now offered to share his reviews here on Livermore Rocks!
So welcome Jim, we’re excited to have you. We look forward to reading about your tasty adventures exploring great food, impressive sights, and blue skies.
Be sure and comment on his articles, he’d love to hear from you.
STYX is playing tonight, 8:15pm at Wente Vineyards. ‘Nuff said.

I just read an article on Contra Costa Times today about the East Bay Regional Park District working on their planned expansion. They are buying land throughout the East Bay with money from bonds that we voted on in years past.
Spanky’s Old Fashioned Hot Dog
A week and a half ago I was craving for a hot dog. This wasn’t just any craving – nope, I was jonesin’ big time. Here I was, staring into my freezer at the last microwavable frozen corn dog. I can’t remember the last time I bought frozen corn dogs. It’s probably been in there since the ice age with all the freezer burn on it. This was a problem.
I’ve been to a couple hot dog joints in town at one time or another, but I couldn’t remember the differences between them. Hungry, with the onslaught of grumpiness kicking in, I made the decision right then and there that will forever change this city. I decided to try every hot dog joint in Livermore!
We’ve been invaded by minions! The “Despicablimp” has landed at the Livermore Airport.
Thanks Doug for sharing the photo you took today.
